Miami 96 Bobcats 95

This is what is cool about basketball and I guess sports in general: on any given night any team can beat any team. It doesn’t matter who is playing. Even the Washington Generals have beaten the  Harlem Globetrotters once or twice. Granted, this is no Washington Generals, it is a young and eager 2-0 Bobcats team that really wanted to play the upsetter against the Justice-League of Ameri… I mean, Miami Heat.

I will be honest, I need to get a DVR, I didn’t see much of the first half. But what I did see of it was a flat Heat team overall with mostly Bron keeping Miami in the game using his new post-game and a variety of other moves.  Bosh had his moments in the second quarter as well, but it was the 3rd quarter where Miami flashed it’s game seriously. Bron continued toying with Charlotte’s defense by making some intense reverse layups, then Bosh countered with some strong, aggressive drives to the hoop resulting in major throwdown slammas. And then … BOOM …just like that, it was a 24-10 third quarter and Miami had comeback with Chalmers and the rest of the squad feeding off of the energy of the superstar playmaking and providing strong defense. This was happening despite Wade having a terrible game for the most part: missing a dunk and falling on his ass and even going back to the locker room to check out a bum foot for injury.

Once the Heat were in striking distance Wade came back to the game and was able to shake out of his slump just in time to hit the game winning J, of course. It was literally a “fall down 7 times, get up 8 times” moment for Wade, for those who remember his Converse days.

Grasping victory from the clutches of defeat with punishing playmaking.

This is the magic of “Los Tres Grandes” on the basketball court.

“It’s good to see us show some resolve, some toughness,” coach Spoelstra would later say about the game.

Notes:

The craziest thing in this game wasn’t Wade falling on his ass or Bosh almost hyperextending his knee on a dunk, it was LeBron’s dunk making the ball bounce off a defenders head and back out of the rim. The referees didn’t even count it as a made FG. Evidence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDNEuXlgcCE

Also, Bron may have the out-of-bounds save of the year (decade?) on this one:

    Win by 1 against Charlotte?
    not impressed.

  6. My wife and i have been so glad Jordan could deal with his investigations from the precious recommendations he gained out of the site. It’s not at all simplistic to simply be giving away guides which usually some others may have been selling. So we see we have got the blog owner to appreciate because of that. The entire explanations you’ve made, the simple web site menu, the friendships your site help to engender it’s most fantastic, and it’s really letting our son and our family do think the subject is brilliant, and that’s exceptionally indispensable. Thank you for the whole lot!
